Kitchen Memories Collection

The kitchen sparks curiosity, encourages gathering, and arouses emotions.

Everyone has a kitchen memory. Author, food, and travel writer Kathleen Thompson Hill has collected culinary tools for decades and has amassed one of the largest collections in the United States. A selection of her pieces from across the world that date back to the 1800s is now on permanent collection at DeLoach Vineyards.

Kathleen’s Kitchen Memories Collection of culinary utensils perfectly intertwines themes of nostalgia, innovation, and culture. We are inspired to remember, to wonder, to feel.

A food and wine writer for the Sonoma Index Tribune from 2009 to 2022, Kathleen traveled extensively and collected culinary tools for decades. After personally touring Kitchen Memories when the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art exhibited it in 2013, DeLoach proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset was inspired to preserve the collection and share it with others.
